Radiesse™ is an injectable filler used in various cosmetic, reconstructive and therapeutic applications to augment and contour folds, depressions and defects of the facial area. Radiesse has proven to be a very versatile facial contouring product that has demonstrated long-lasting enhancement in areas such as the chin, cheek and around the mouth where a larger volume is required to build up the surrounding tissue.

Depending upon the intended shaping and contouring effects, Radiesse can be used to accentuate facial features that require more definition or soften facial features where less definition is desired.

When injected in soft tissue, Radiesse remains soft and pliable, taking on the characteristics of the surrounding tissue. Further, it does not calcify or migrate.

Radiesse Directions

There are various techniques used by physicians for placement of the filler under the skin depending upon the type of contouring, restoration or build-up being performed and its desired effect. A simple out-patient procedure, Radiesse treatment is often performed under local anesthesia in the doctor’s office.

Radiesse has been shown to last anywhere from one to three years. In clinical studies, the CaHA spheres were shown to last up to seven years. Individual results may vary, affected by age, skin type, lifestyle and muscle activity.

All Injections must be injected by a practitioner who has medical and specialist training. The practitioner must be medically qualified.

Radiesse Cautions

There are few reported side effects. However, some common injection-related reactions may occur, such as edema, swelling, pain, itching, discoloration, and tenderness at the injection site.

Radiesse should not be implanted in patients with other implants or materials still in place.

Radiesse should not be implanted in patients while on an aspirin regimen or while taking other medications that could inhibit the healing process. Please consult your physician for more information.

Radiesse Ingredients

Radiesse is a synthetic injectable composed of very tiny, smooth CaHA microspheres suspended in a water-based gel carrier. These consistently shaped and sized particles have been proven safe and biocompatible while allowing one’s own tissue to gradually grow in and around the particles.
